My sister is 1 1/2 years younger than I and had a normal Dexa. She is about
an inch shorter and always hated milk. All my life she has made a big deal
about how much she hates milk and won't touch it. She takes calcium if she
happens to see the Tums and it occurs to her to take one or two. Otherwise she
doesn't bother. She is 59 and I just turned 61. She had a slightly earlier
menopause than I. We both stopped taking hormones a year ago. I have
osteopenia that I will control, but it is curious that we were both brought up
in the same family, eating the same foods, and enjoying the same activities in
a small town. I have nagged at her for 3 years to have a Dexa Scan and I
couldn't be happier for her. But I thought we would be the same.
Again. I am happy. But surprised.

If you're not identical twins, you can't expect to be the same. Lots
of genetic variation even in one family.
