I am on the disabled list an physically unable to work but
because of severe chronic pain
that herniated two discs and eventually ( thanks to medical
(mis) treatment, osteoporosis.
I think that it is possible to get disability based upon
limitations caused by Osteoporosis.
On the other hand if you have already suffered bone breakage
as a result of the disease then
that is a whole different area to deal with.
I can tell you that the vast majority of disability claims
are rejected. The governments will
see exactly what you cannot do and then try to match you up
with something you can do and then
say - go get a job doing this or this. When i first went on
disability and had to go to the
givernment center, i was amazed at how many "suspect" claims
were being made.
Past that ( and maybe i am nuts ) but i miss working. After
i was injured, i went back to work
three times - first time for a few months- then a few months
later for 5 months and then a year later for
about 11 months before i ended up in the hospital with docs
saying qut work or we quit treating you.
I made lots of money in my previous jobs (2) and i can tell
you that the disability pay is very low in
comparison.
Best bet - talk to your doctor (s) and see if they would
support such an application since they will
be required to report in depth on your condition and state
WHY you cannot do any substantive
work again. Past that the gov't will likely have you
examined by their doctor (s) and then compare the
results.
